Alyson Barnes

Candidate for Rossendale and Darwen

Alyson has lived in the Rossendale & Darwen constituency for almost 32 years - her children were brought up here and Alyson lives in Crawshawbooth, with her husband Paul who works as a Project Manager within the construction industry. She has two grown-up children – a teacher and a student, two grandchildren and an elderly labrador called Blue.

She has been representing Goodshaw ward on Rossendale Borough Council since 1999. Alyson has been the Leader of Rossendale Council since 2011 - a role she has found both rewarding and frustrating.
