I am running to be the Labour MP for Welwyn Hatfield, to serve the community that I call home. I was born in Welwyn Garden City and live in the constituency with my young family.
I live my Labour values through my work in social housing, as a supporter of local and national charities and time spent as a trustee of a credit union.
After thirteen years of a Conservative government and eighteen with Grant Shapps as the MP, our constituency is growing more unequal. There is a 10 year gap in life expectancy between people living in the centre of Hatfield and Welwyn Village, despite being just a few miles apart.
Our towns and villages have a proud history and vibrant community spirit, but people have been let down too often by the Conservatives. They deserve better.
As a local candidate with national experience, I am ready to take on Grant Shapps and believe we can secure a historic Labour gain in Welwyn Hatfield at the next General Election.
