Annette Medhurst is honoured to have been selected as the Labour Party parliamentary candidate for Wokingham constituency.
Annette studied Medical Biochemistry and completed her PhD at Kings College, London. She worked in cancer research for many years at universities in London, Amsterdam and Oxford.
Annette moved from Reading to Woosehill in Wokingham 5 years ago with her young family and is an active member of her local community. Annette is a trustee at a charity run pre-school and a parent governor at her daughter’s school. She has held a number of voluntary roles, including work at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and at local schools. In 2018 she spearheaded a local campaign to save the school crossing patrollers.
Annette believes that Government should take bold steps forward in tacking the current climate emergency. She wants to see an end to austerity and significant investment in our public services to benefit all members of society.
Annette says “I love living in Wokingham and enjoy all that our neighbourhood has to offer. Residents across the Wokingham area deserve to have an MP who is accessible and will stand up for our community”.
