My name is Gill German and I am proud to be standing to be our Labour MP for Clwyd North in the next General Election.

A local teacher for many years, my route into politics came straight from my classroom. I saw life getting more and more difficult for the families of the children coming through my door under this Tory government and felt driven to tackle the inequalities that create barriers to opportunities for so many.

That drive led me to become a Labour councillor. As Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Families in Denbighshire, I am proud to be working in partnership with our Welsh Labour government to put Labour values into action.

I can see first-hand though just how much needs to change and how much more could be achieved with a UK Labour government, working hand in hand with our Welsh Labour government, to make life better for us all.

I will be Clwyd North’s voice around the decision-making tables and in Parliament to bring investment to our towns and villages, create a skilled, local workforce, unlock our huge green energy potential, break down barriers to opportunity for our children and young people and so much more.
