All my life I have spoken up and stood up for others, and all my adult life I have campaigned for fairness and equality. Since joining Labour in May 2015 I have campaigned for a Labour government, for our egalitarian vision for the many, not the few, and against privatisation and cuts to public services. I have fought to save Aberystwyth Crown Post Office from closure, to save Bodlondeb Residential Home, I have campaigned against racism, against inappropriate planning, for animal welfare, and for the local authority to provide the support, and the safety, that residents made vulnerable through financial hardship or through flooding are entitled to. I have also worked to raise awareness of the need to grow our local economies, address the impact of climate change, and to increase democracy in our communities, in our local authority and in Westminster. Conservative Party and Liberal Democrat attacks on our unions, our welfare state, our council housing, our education system, our pensions, our NHS and on the Welsh budget have almost destroyed the safety net - created by the Labour Party, the trade unions, and the labour movement - that held us safe. As your Labour Candidate for Ceredigion, I will continue campaigning to defend and repair our unique fabric of social justice, union rights, the right to be healthy and housed, to grow old in dignity and without fear, and for equality, fairness, justice and social unity and cohesion in Ceredigion. Your vote for Labour in the next General Election will help provide us with the majority we need to do what Wales and England need us to do - invest in and repair our public services and our NHS, protecting our children and grandchildren from the devastation of climate change, and rebuild the Welsh and national economy through a Green New Deal and a fair deal for Wales - restoring our hope for the brighter and more productive future that a Labour Government will bring for each of us in Ceredigion, and across the whole of the UK.
We're a people-powered movement.
