I'm a postal worker and a trade union rep in Royal Mail. I'm also a local Borough and County Councillor and I've spent my working life standing up for working people. I live in the Spencer area of Northampton South with my family and have done all my life.
I'm standing to be the Labour candidate for Northampton South because I'm passionate about fighting for a bold and transformative Labour government. In the past seven years we've seen worsening inequality, a generation being denied access to decent housing, an explosion of insecure employment and our public services pushed to crisis point through underfunding.
At a time when a fifth of children in Northampton South are growing up in poverty, it's clear that the economic model in this country is broken and we need fundamental change. This is what I would be standing for.
For me, this isn't a career move but about fighting for a fairer, more equal country, that puts genuine power in the hands of ordinary working people. My candidacy is a calling to serve & represent the people of my town, where I am born & bred and I hope to be the people's representative in parliament. I am From Northampton South, For Northampton South.
We're a people-powered movement.
Be a part of it.
