I love where I am from - I will always put it first.

After 14 years of this Conservative Government, our beautiful part of Somerset has been taken for granted and is worse off. With crumbling public services, record high taxes, and nothing but sleaze and scandal from the top, Britain and Glastonbury & Somerton need transformative change.

When I was growing up locally, the last Labour Government made sure my classroom was not overly-crowded, I could see my GP or dentist quickly, and the council was able to fund key local services. 

Growing up locally now, my nephews and nieces are facing a different world. Since 2010, Somerset’s schools have faced per pupil funding cuts of £118 a year, public satisfaction in our NHS has fallen from record highs under Labour to record lows under the Tories, and Somerset Council is £67 million a year worse off than it was under Labour.

It does not have to be like this.

I am campaigning on Labour’s transformative plans for a clean energy industrial revolution, to support our rural economy and sustainable farming, and for restoring ethics and integrity back into our politics.

Only Labour can deliver the transformative change for a fairer, greener future.
