I am delighted to have the opportunity to stand as the Labour
candidate for Glasgow South. I have been a Labour Party member since
I was 17 years old. All my life I have campaigned for change, whether
it is tackling violence, addressing the rights of disabled people or
demanding justice for survivors of child abuse.
I have fought for fair housing, for investment in transport, for
affordable childcare and for justice for victims of crime. I have
pursued co-operative options in the economy and I have worked with
trade unions and campaign groups to expose the increasing exploitation
of workers through insecure work and the denial of rights in the
I remain as passionate now as I was at 17 that inequality and
injustice can and must be tackled and that Labour has been and
continues to be the best means of creating change, translating our
Labour ideas and values into transforming lives.
I will take the fight to the Tories and the SNP. We can and must make
both parties accountable for the cuts they are enforcing on Glasgow
South, and across the country. We must make the case for a progressive
Labour government; a true alternative to Tory austerity.
We're a people-powered movement.
Be a part of it.
