Mark is the only child of a single parent and grew up in a tower block in Birmingham. He left school at 16 with limited qualifications and began working in a sheet metal factory. After, he went to work in the NHS in the operating theatre for a number of years before going to night school and later University to become a barrister. Mark in now a criminal defence and international human rights Barrister. He has appeared before international human rights tribunal and lectured at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Mark has spent many years working on miscarriage of justice cases and is the founder of the London Innocence Project. Mark has also lectured extensively on US death penalty litigation and constitutional law as well as writing and lecturing on the Palestinian Israeli conflict.
