Candidate for

Pendle and Clitheroe

Jonathan Hinder

Personal Statement

I grew up in Downham, at the foot of Pendle Hill, and I went to school in Clitheroe. After graduating from university, I joined the police and worked shifts on the frontline as a constable, sergeant and inspector.

Since leaving the police service, I have been an active campaigner across Pendle and Ribble Valley, being a key member of the Ribble Valley Labour team which secured our best ever result in the 2023 local elections.

My policing experience has given me a clear understanding of what needs to change in our country. We need a Labour government to rebuild our public services and shape an economy that works for ordinary people. I would be a strong, northern voice for Pendle and Clitheroe in Westminster, speaking up to rescue our NHS, rebuild neighbourhood policing, secure green investment to create good jobs, and deliver proper public transport.

I have committed my life to public service - and it would be a privilege to work full-time to improve people's lives in Pendle, Clitheroe and across Britain.
If you want to help Labour win this key marginal seat of Pendle and Clitheroe, please get in touch - I’d love to hear from you.
