Boris Johnson has called this election because he believes he was born to rule, and that he will get a landslide victory.

But his hard-right Thatcherite agenda will be divisive and damaging for Aberavon, Wales and the whole of the UK. And Nigel Farage is made of the same Tory stuff.

Nine years of Tory rule has left our communities devastated. People are struggling to make ends meet, foodbank use is on the rise, and public services are on the brink.

Only Labour will protect our NHS, safeguard our public services and fix our broken economy. We need a Labour government because Labour is the only party that truly cares about the people of Aberavon.

Two years ago you were good enough to re-elect me. You knew I would go on fighting tooth and nail to save our steelworks, to secure the best possible Brexit deal for our community, and to give Aberavon a strong voice in Westminster. I have kept those promises, and I always will.

The record shows that I’m not a ’yes man’. I serve you, and I will always put your interests first.
