Personal Statement
I have worked for 30 years as a GP in Dursley in Stroud. I entered politics because I see, everyday, the effect on health of inequality and hardship. I have led the NHS in Stroud and tried to improve the healthcare of 120,000 patients. I realise now that many of the solutions to ill health are political, not medical. I also consider that we are in a climate emergency and a cost of living crisis. We need to protect our environment and invest in sustainable energy before it is too late. I am leading on Stroud's local power plan and volunteer at our Foodbank. I would like to live in a country where we don't need foodbanks, where we abolish low pay, and we are powered by sustainable energy. Its time for a change.
