I’m Isabel Saxby, 

A proud and passionate member of our Labour family and prospective Parliamentary candidate for Torridge and Tavistock.

I live in rural Devon, a place let down by the Conservatives and Liberal-Democrats for as long as anyone can remember. I’ve seen what has happened to my community with cuts in health, education, social services, roads and how our environment has been exploited for a few shareholders leaving us with sewage in our rivers and seas.

It is hard to believe that when so much money is being spent on HS2, we are still waiting after so many promises to get five miles of track to reconnect just one town (Tavistock) to the rail network.

We are an area that produces some of the finest produce in the world but we are continually frustrated at getting the trade agreements we need to sell it across the world.

I’ve been so determined to set this right, that I took this council seat from the conservatives. This shows that Labour can deliver in country areas. Now I’m determined to win Torridge and Tavistock for Labour at the next General Election. We are the only alternative to the Conservatives and we, as a family and party need to show electors what we can do in areas like mine.

As we say here, cream first and as Labour, I’ll always put the people first to achieve a fair and free place to live. Only Labour can do this.
