From the moment I began working with patients in my role as a family doctor, I recognised that so many of those people needed an advocate – someone who would stand up for them, particularly when they were vulnerable. There was also a great need for someone to champion the NHS itself, as the current Government seeks to stealthily demean it. I am standing for the seat of Cheadle because I believe in the North West and in a fairer Britain that is not bruised and divided by a Boris Brexit. Labour is the only party who can deliver change and social justice. I am proud to support a party who when we were in government did not have rising homelessness, grinding poverty, a sickening health service and food banks which working people have to visit in order to survive. As a councillor, the creator of the Homeless-Friendly charity and national campaigner on health, I have a proven track-record of getting things done for the people, with a bias to those most in need. I believe I have the skills, experience, compassion and competency to make Cheadle a more hopeful place to live and Britain a prouder, unified nation under a Labour Government.
We're a people-powered movement.
