I am honoured to have been chosen as your candidate for the approaching General Election, and would like to introduce myself. I spent most of my formative years in Essex, where I completed my nurse training. I am a registered nurse and have worked in Accident and Emergency, private sector homes and currently in the NHS developing end of life care for the county of Kent.
I have been a trades union member and a Labour Party supporter my entire adult life. From 2004 to 2015 I was on the board of the Royal College of Nursing where I also served as a vice chair for a time.
I joined the Labour Party in 1997 and I believe a Labour government is the only way to ensure a fairer society, with fairer access to health, social care, education, justice for all and a better future of our planet.
I am no stranger to Mole Valley, having lived and worked in Dorking for five years where I am still a member of Dorking Rugby Club. I am a single father, my 15-year old son will be starting his GSCE year this autumn. We live in St Leonard’s on Sea and I would not hesitate moving back to Mole Valley if elected.
A vote for me is a vote against Tory/LibDem austerity. A vote for me is a vote for rebuilding our local services and investing in new jobs in sustainable industries. A vote for me is about justice and fairness. It is a vote for the many not the privileged few.
We'll be out and about all over Mole Valley in the next few weeks and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. If you see us please stop for a chat and let us know your views. Thank you for your time.
