Personal Statement

I’m a local lad who is born and bred in Burton. Born at Queen’s Hospital, I grew up in Stretton and went to local schools, William Shrewsbury and de Ferrers.

My first job was collecting glasses at the Wetmore Whistle, and now I work in the fire and rescue service on campaigns to help keep people safe.

I’m also a trade union rep within my workplace fighting for better pay and better jobs. I want to carry on fighting for working people as Burton and Uttoxeter’s next Labour MP.

I’m standing as our next Member of Parliament because the Conservatives have let us down and we can’t afford another five years of their chaos.

We’ll help local people by tackling the cost of living through reducing energy bills. Investing in local jobs and industries. Tackling crime by putting more police on our streets. Getting our NHS back on its feet and ending the lottery of getting a GP or NHS dental appointment.

I believe we deserve better and it's time for change. We deserve a fresh start with Labour.
