Catherine raised the alarm about planned bed cuts at Ilkeston Hospital in 2018. The Conservatives promised no bed cuts but over half have been cut. In 2019 Catherine led a march of local people from the hospital to the Conservative’s office door demanding the cuts be stopped.
Catherine has campaigned alongside local people against HS2 and the damage it will do to Long Eaton, Sandiacre and the environment. Unlike previous MPs she will speak up AGAINST HS2, and demand that the £billions be used to upgrade our current railways and invest in our towns and villages.
Catherine has shown total commitment to Erewash, standing here in 2015 and 2017 – each time increasing the Labour vote. Catherine has seen off cuts to Long Eaton fire station and Hazelwood care home in Ilkeston. As MP Catherine will oversee the investment needed to repair the damage caused in Erewash by Conservative and Lib Dem cuts.
It’s time for change with a focus on higher living standards, better public services, and a future that holds hope not fear!
Catherine’s pledges to you:
PROTECT OUR HOSPITAL:
Labour created the NHS and will rescue it from years of decline
PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND OUR TOWNS:
Catherine will campaign to STOP HS2 cutting Long Eaton in two and trashing our local environment.
PROTECT OUR FUTURE:
Work with businesses and local groups to make sure the investment a Labour Government brings rebuilds our towns and villages.
PROTECT YOUR FAMILY:
Dignity for the elderly with quality social care, and well funded schools and colleges and no university fees for the next generation. Catherine cares and Labour cares.
PROTECT OUR STREETS:
We will but police on the beat after years of cuts. We'll make our town centres safer to be in and restore our high streets.
We're a people-powered movement.
Be a part of it.
