Having left teaching in the summer, after a career of fifteen years, I now work for a charity that helps people with a history of homelessness get into secure tenancies. I currently live in Harlow, Essex where I am a district councillor and portfolio holder for community and well being. Outside of politics I have volunteered for a number of organisations and am also a trustee of a local inclusive theatre company Razed Roof who work with adults with learning difficulties. I regularly campaign across the region for the Labour Party and although that is currently restricted to phone canvassing, I still look forward to talking to as many residents as possible between now and the election next May. I feel passionately about the importance of giving young people the best opportunities in life, the importance of crime prevention and the need to support our hard working police and fire officers to do their jobs as effectively as possible to keep the people of Essex safe.
