Gordon has been at the heart of Blackpool issues and campaigns for over 23 years –ever since being selected as Parliamentary candidate and has an office and home in South Shore.
Grammar School. He was the Editor of History Today magazine, which he ran as a small business for 12 years, and an Open University tutor.
Gordon has served as the Opposition Front Bench Team as Shadow Minister for Higher & Further Education and Skills since September 2015. He has also been the chairman of Parliament’s all-party group for Veterans. He’s campaigned ceaselessly in Parliament to highlight the particular needs and priorities of Blackpool and other seaside towns.
Gordon has spent time in Parliament lobbying for Blackpool and taking issues on behalf of his constituents. In the 22 years he has been the MP, he has a proven track record in helping to bring major regeneration to the town, the new tramway and the Cardiac Centre as well as the funding package which brought the renewed Tower and Winter Gardens.
When Parliament hasn’t been sitting, Gordon visits local community groups and events in Blackpool and is working hard alongside Blackpool Council on behalf of residents in the town.
