Our constituency of Sleaford and North Hykeham is the fourth largest in the U.K. by voter numbers, with over 93,000 voters. So why haven’t we got the infrastructure other constituencies have? I believe it’s because successive Conservative MPs have taken our votes for granted — that’s why we don’t have a hospital, college or motorway.
Sleaford is my home, I went to school in Cranwell and Sleaford. I care passionately about our district and feel sad that successive governments have neglected us. I have a vision for our constituency that includes good jobs, thriving businesses, profitable farms, accessible healthcare, and high quality education and training.
A Labour government will invest in our region so that Labour’s Green Industrial Revolution will bring thousands of good jobs to our constituency.
A Labour government will protect jobs, workers’ rights, and the environment. There will be no more insecure, zero-hours jobs. Homelessness has soared over the last nine years of Conservative governments. A Labour government will build one hundred thousand new homes per year while in office, including social and affordable homes. Public services need massive investment after being starved of funds under the Cameron, May and Johnson governments. Labour will redress the balance and bring back the police, teachers and medical staff so carelessly lost over the last nine years. We need real change in Sleaford and North Hykeham and we need it now. Vote for me, Linda Edwards-Shea, on December 12th.
For the many, not the few.
