Candidate for
New Forest West
Dr Sally Johnston
Personal Statement
The New Forest has been my home for over 35 years, and I love it. As a GP in Lymington for all those years as well as holding many clinical public service roles, I have frontline experience of what needs to change and improve in our local system. I am passionate about finding sustainable solutions to enable the NHS to deliver quality care for all.
I am committed to addressing social and health inequalities; we have areas of deep deprivation in this constituency, sadly the issues of the vulnerable are often less well addressed in areas of affluence.
If I win your vote and become elected as your MP, I will:
Address the issue of lack of affordable housing in the New Forest
Be focussed on rebuilding our public services based on sound economic foundations
Be invested in minimising the effects of climate change and in protecting the environment
Help the young and vulnerable avoid falling into illegal activities including County Lines
Push for robust mental health support across the New Forest, currently tragically under resourced
Work hard on providing more accessible help to victims of domestic violence and abusive relationships
As your MP I will be approachable and commit to working hard to ensure we have a caring, inclusive and flourishing constituency.
