This is my home. I’ve lived and worked in the constituency or within sight of it for more than 35 years, mostly in a Cornish council house. I understand the soul of this place. It is stunningly wealthy in natural beauty, history, community and in distinctive culture; and yet parts of our towns are amongst the poorest areas of Northern Europe. We desperately need the changes that the coming Labour Government will bring: a rebirth of the engineering that defined us, making new, green technology to lead the world through the next industrial revolution, with decent wages and good jobs; the new, publicly-owned homes to house our people affordably; the public transport and services that bring viability to our towns and remote villages. Above all we need a future. And I will be the voice speaking up loudly for our communities, insisting that Cornwall has a great part to play and that we will be heard in Westminster.
We're a people-powered movement.
Be a part of it.
