Personal Statement
Lauren is Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Rochester & Strood. She lives in the constituency and is a local councillor, representing residents in Rochester East and Warren Wood. She is also a Cabinet member in the new Labour & Co-operative administration running Medway Council, responsible for Economic and Social Regeneration and Inward Investment.
Her professional background is as a financial regulator at the Bank of England, making sure that financial companies follow the rules put in place after the last banking crisis. She also has a strong record of standing up for people as an elected trade union representative in her workplace for over a decade. Now she is using that experience to stand up for people in Rochester and Strood by regenerating our town centres, supporting local businesses to thrive and create jobs for local people, and campaigning to improve local health services and reduce waiting times for GP appointments and hospital treatment.
Lauren will focus on restoring pride in the areas that feel neglected after years of Conservative rule and will be a strong voice for the people of Rochester and Strood in Westminster.
