Personal Statement

Scarborough and Whitby are wonderful places to live but the towns and villages are suffering from huge challenges. From access to good quality healthcare and education, better, more affordable housing and improving our woeful public transport I am determined to use my skills and experience to make a difference. I will also work hard to end violence against women and girls which sees too many women trapped in their homes with their abusers. Our beautiful beaches and waters are polluted by sewage: this must change. I’ve lived in North Yorkshire for over 20 years and as a working mother of three, including a young adult with complex needs, I know first-hand how families like mine are overlooked and forgotten. My award-winning TV dramas highlight social issues, including domestic violence, mental health and disability. I am unafraid to tackle the issues that matter most to local people, with compassion and inclusion at the heart of everything I do. I would be honoured to represent Scarborough & Whitby in Parliament. If you would like to support my campaign, please get in touch.
