I am proud to stand for the constituency where I live. This is my community and I will fight to make sure that we all receive a better deal in Shipley. We have suffered appalling cuts at the hands of the Government. Our essential services are under threat because of cuts to local funding. We suffer the effects of climate change and air pollution all over our constituency, and our children’s education is affected by Tory cuts and the Government's obsession with academisation. We are a proud community in Shipley, and yet we have families using foodbanks and pensioners unable to heat their homes. I understand the needs of our local community because I live in our constituency. As someone who has worked in education for the last 15 years, I will fight for children and families to make sure no child is left behind. I will campaign for a people’s vote and will make sure that any Brexit deal protects manufacturing jobs in Shipley. And I will make sure that neighbourhood policing is properly funded so that our communities are not blighted by crime as they have under the Tory Government. As your next MP I vow to stand up for women affected by pension inequality. And I will speak out to make sure that Shipley gets its fair share of funding that currently flows to the Tory heartlands in the south.
We're a people-powered movement.
