Joshua Garfield, the Labour Party candidate for Braintree, attended secondary school in Essex and was brought up in Stratford, East London, where he was elected a local councillor in 2018.
Joshua is an avid campaigner on issues of justice and equality, Joshua is LGBT+ Labour’s campaigns officer, a member of the Jewish Labour Movement, and a former volunteer at the Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London.
Joshua says: “This Tory government has overseen the biggest cuts to our public services in a generation. The NHS and social care is in crisis, our schools are struggling under the weight of the budget cut and there are less police on the streets to keep us safe. To top it off, The Tories have failed to get Brexit done.
“People here in Braintree need a representative that will put them first. The prospect of crashing out without a deal threatens our economy; it’s time the people had the final say. Labour will give you that final say, and I will prioritise the safety and security of our jobs and public services here in Braintree."
