Like many Labour candidates elsewhere, Phillip is standing in Westmorland and Lonsdale because of a desire to bring about meaningful change in our society and to it’s many diverse communities. He has found the successive mismanagement of multiple Tory Governments and the impact of austerity on our communities heart-breaking. Phillip wants to see real change under Labour, where we can have a Government that will tackle social inequalities, restore our NHS, tackle crime and protect our environment.
He is passionately offering people in the South Lakes a strong and credible alternative to endless Conservative failures, and the Liberal Democrats who have propped up Tory Governments and austerity policies. Phillip will lead a campaign that tips the scales and delivers a Labour MP to Westmorland & Lonsdale and helps to secure a Labour Government for the whole of the UK.
A family man, Phillip lives with his husband and their two gorgeous adopted children… and a daft black Labrador named Duke. Phillip has enjoyed a varied working life in retail, leisure & tourism. More
recently he spent over a decade as a self-employed professional photographer. Now an elected representative in local government, Phillip is also studying part time with the Open University for an honours degree in Astronomy & Planetary Science.
