I've been fortunate to represent West Bromwich East for sixteen years now. I love it here and I hope you'll put your faith in me again. Since I was first elected in 2001 I've campaigned on issues that matter to local people, fighting for the regeneration of the High Street in West Bromwich, helping to ensure the new college was built and calling for Tory police cuts to be reversed.
I've also spoken out about phone-hacking in the national media and the terrible legacy of child abuse and its lasting impact on victims. Now more than ever we need a strong voice in Parliament to stand up for West Bromwich East and take on the Tories. Theresa May has called this election because she thinks she can win a big majority, not because it is in the national interest. It's vital for areas like ours that we don't let that happen. Under the Tories jobs disappeared and weren't replaced. Only Labour will work hard to bring jobs and investment to West Bromwich East and protect local services from Tory cuts.
We're a people-powered movement.
Be a part of it.
